HOP TO 3rd ANNUAL YAP EASTER EGG HUNT MARCH 22
St. Charles County Parks Department - On Saturday, March 22, eagle-eyed youths can hop to the St. Charles County Youth Activity Park for the third annual YAP Easter Egg Hunt. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., guests can enjoy traditional and extreme hunts - with prizes found within each egg - and participate in a number of egg-themed games, crafts and activities.
The egg hunts are planned on the 25-acre park's open play fields and inside the 33,000-square foot skate park. Separate searches are scheduled for toddlers 3 and under (beginning at 10:15 a.m.); kids ages four to six (beginning at 10:30 a.m.); and for those seven to 12 (beginning at 10:45 a.m.). An "extreme" hunt for skateboarders and rollerbladers of all ages is planned to begin at 11 a.m., on the beginner-level skate course. Participants must adhere to park rules (i.e.: skaters must be a registered member of the park and must wear a helmet) to compete. For a complete listing of YAP rules of conduct, please visit www.stccparks.org.
Each hunt is limited to the first 75 participants, so advance reservations are suggested. At least one adult guardian must accompany park guests under the age of 12. However, only one person may assist contestant in the toddler age group with their egg search, and other age-group participants must hunt without assistance. Participants are asked to bring their own baskets to collect the eggs during the hunt. To register, please call 636-561-4964 (between noon and 8 p.m. daily) or stop by the YAP Front Desk.
Designed to offer recreational opportunities focused at area youths, the Youth Activity Park is located at 7801 Highway N in Dardenne Prairie, less than one mile west of Bryan Road. Among the YAP's many amenities are the skate park; indoor and outdoor rock climbing walls; sand volleyball and basketball courts; indoor recreational center that features a video-game nook; paved trail; and open play fields. For more information, please call the Youth Activity Park at 636-561-4964.
