30 Days until I-64 Closure

Mid-Metro 4 Businesses Prepare by Signing Up for Unique Marketing Program

ST. LOUIS - December 5, 2007 - The Mid-Metro 4, a coalition of the cities of Brentwood, Clayton, Maplewood and Richmond Heights, has signed up more than 90 businesses throughout these four cities to participate in a unique, promotions-based marketing program.  The Mid-Metro 4 Card Program is designed to unite businesses under one voice, empowering them to promote and sustain their viability during the rapidly approaching I-64 construction and beyond.

Consumers are drawn to Brentwood, Clayton, Maplewood and Richmond Heights because of their central locations and their wealth of retail, entertainment and corporate offices. After the main artery of the Mid-Metro 4 area, I-64, closes in January, Mid-Metro 4 businesses will have the opportunity to provide customers with incentives and extra reasons to travel into their areas. The Mid-Metro 4 Program allows businesses a chance to come together and provides a centralized source for consumers.

The Mid-Metro 4 Program features an incentive card and informational Web site, http://www.midmetro4.com/, which give residents and visitors a reason to rediscover the fantastic amenities the central corridor has to offer. The card will drive consumers to the Web site, which spotlights Mid-Metro 4 retailers and the current promotional offers redeemable with the Mid-Metro 4 Card, and provides easy-to-follow driving directions.

The Mid-Metro 4 Card Program is available to all businesses within the four cities. It is up to each business to select the discount or promotion it offers.  Participating businesses can promote and update their specials free on the Mid-Metro 4 Web site, and will receive a complete package of marketing materials, including professional quality posters, Mid-Metro 4 Cards and counter top card holders, free.

"Our communities are pleased to be working together to continue the economic success of the area during the I-64 construction.  The Mid-Metro 4 Card Program helps accomplish this without exhausting businesses' marketing budgets," said Brentwood City Manager Chris Seemayer, Clayton Manager Michael Schoedel, Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran and Richmond Heights City Manager Amy Hamilton in a joint statement. "We rolled out the program for the businesses less than 30 days ago, and have received a great deal of positive feedback about it.  Businesses are excited about the new promotion and we think the public will be delighted with the fabulous deals and discounts that will be available from their favorite stores, restaurants, services and attractions."

The Mid-Metro 4 Card will be available at City Halls, festivals, events and participating businesses. Mid-Metro 4 businesses are encouraged to register at http://www.midmetro4.com/.
