SAUGET, IL (August 17, 2009) - On September 2, United Way's Illinois Division kicks off its annual fundraising drive at GCS Ballpark, home of the Gateway Grizzlies. The game against the Rockford Riverhawks begins at 6:05. A portion of all tickets sold through the Gateway Grizzlies will go toward United Way's 2009 campaign. Other events include the "Hat Off the Head" silent auction, during which fans bid on game-worn hats from Grizzlies players, and a 50/50 drawing during the 8th inning.
Ronald A. Buerges, the 2009 Illinois Division campaign chair will throw out the first pitch and the Illinois Center for Autism Singers will present the Star Spangled Banner.
