Manchester, MO - (September 23, 2009) - Families, friends and community supporters of adults with developmental disabilities will be interested to know that Lafayette Industries has teamed with Barnes & Noble, Inc. to host a public book fair fundraiser. This Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th event will allow shoppers from around the country to present an event voucher (I.D. #10014264) when purchasing books, music and other items from their local Barnes & Noble, to qualify Lafayette for a donation of up to 25% of event sales.
"Lafayette embraces this opportunity to work with a national store like Barnes and Noble to raise funds that benefit our dedicated workers with developmental disabilities" says Lafayette Executive Director, Rob Libera. "We hope that our supporters make use of this easy way to donate!"
Supporters are also encouraged to join Lafayette for book readings and store tours beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday the 17th at the Barnes and Noble West County Mall location at 80 West County Center, Des Peres, MO 63131. The hours for this location, which is serving as the event headquarters, are: Sat. 9 a.m. -10 p.m. and Sun. 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The funds raised at this enjoyable event will assist Lafayette in the expansion of its North County and West County workshop locations, which will allow for dozens of adults from current job waiting lists to enjoy their very own employment opportunities.
