 Illinois AMVETS State Commander to visit Jefferson Barracks

 

SPRINGFIELD-AMVETS Department of Illinois Commander, Rudy Spaulding will be visiting Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery to present Director Barnes with two appreciation awards for Alton National Cemetery and Mound City National Cemetery. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 8th, 2009 at 3:00 pm.   

 

"I am humbled to present these awards to the staff of our Illinois National Cemeteries, for their continued service to our servicemen and women and their families," said Commander Spaulding. "Jefferson Barracks staff continues to do a remarkable job memorializing our veterans".

 

Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery is responsible for both Alton National Cemetery and Mound City National Cemetery located in southern Illinois.

 

The AMVETS Department of Illinois has been an organization of Veterans serving Veterans since 1945. Illinois AMVETS has been at the forefront of community and Veterans' service for the State of Illinois. Our goal is to improve the lives of our nation's Veterans and the communities they live in.
