Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri announces the 2008 Girls and Women of Distinction

Girl Scouts of EasternMissouri, the preeminent leadership organization for girls, proudly announcesthe 2008 Girls and Women of Distinction. The 20 award recipients, recognizedfor exhibiting courage, confidence and character, and making the world a betterplace, were honored at the inaugural Girls and Women of Distinction awardsreception on Tuesday, May 6, at the Saint Louis Club in Clayton, Mo. The Girlsof Distinction each received a $500 scholarship.

 

“This event provided anopportunity to honor these girls and women whose achievements reflect themission of Girl Scouting,” said Marcia Barber, CEO of Girl Scouts of EasternMissouri. “These leaders of today and tomorrow are making a positive differencein our community.” 

 

The 2008 Girls and Women ofDistinction were selected for their accomplishments in one of ten categories:
