SKATE LATE INTO THE NIGHT AT THE YAP ON AUGUST 2
St. Charles County Parks Department - Be sure to rest up for the fun to come, as the Youth Activity Park (YAP) will stay open on August 2 until the clock strikes midnight. For just $5 at the YAP's Late Skate, guests of all ages can skate, rock climb, or play into the night. Fun games, contests, and other surprises are also planned for this special event that will run from 4 p.m. to midnight.
For this special night only, the facility will be open to all ages (children under 8 must be accompanied by a guardian that is at least 18 years of age). To take part in Late Skate activities, all guests must have a signed participant waiver on file with the park and must comply with all posted rules. A waiver may be obtained at the park office or online at www.stccparks.org. For information on the YAP or Late Skate, please call (636) 561-4964.
Designed to offer recreational opportunities focused at area youths, the 25-acre Youth Activity Park is located at 7801 Highway N in Dardenne Prairie, less than a mile west of Bryan Road. Among the YAP's many amenities are the 33,000 square-foot skate park (the largest skate park in the state!); indoor and outdoor rock climbing walls; basketball and sand volleyball courts; batting cage; paved trail; open play fields; and indoor recreation center that features a video-game nook, table tennis and foosball tables, and a refreshing concession stand.
The St. Charles County Parks Department will offer nearly 150 programs for County residents and visitors this year at each of the eight parks open to the public. Including guided hikes and bike rides, events for children, educational lectures, and other natural recreational opportunities, the majority of these events are free and open to everyone. For more information or for registration, please call the St. Charles County Parks Department at (636) 949-7535.
