St. Louis, July 18, 2008 . . . Haberberger, Inc., a full-service mechanical contracting company based in St. Louis, recently completed work on the Village East Dormitory for long-time client Washington University. The new four-story apartment-style dormitory is located on the university's Danforth Campus and will be ready for students by August 1st.
Contracted by BSI, Haberberger was in charge of installing 60 air handling and fan coil units, a 700-ton chiller, a cooling tower and underground site utilities for the dorm. Installing the chiller proved to be a difficult aspect of the project as the team had to disassemble the chiller into three major pieces before it could be lowered by a crane into a sub-grade garage and carted to the chiller room. Each piece of the chiller was then lowered another six feet onto its concrete pad and reassembled by Haberberger's crew.
Nick Pavia acted as superintendent for Haberberger, and Chris Jordan served as project manager. JEN Mechanical and Premier also served on the project team.
