Columbia, Mo. • A year ago at this time, the CBC basketball team was in limbo. Their head coach had just been asked to resign, their roster of top-tier Division I talent was in flux, and the future of the program was a mystery.
ST. CHARLES • Senior Jordan Barnett led four players in double figures with 21 points as CBC beat Jackson 75-66 in the boys Class 5 quarterfinals Saturday at Lindenwood University.

CBC punched its ticket to the Class 5 state playoffs with a commanding win over Parkway Central in the Class 5 District 3 championship at Parkway North.
On Senior Night, the sophomores came to play. Jordan Barnes had 15 points and Christian Willis had 14 points as No. 2 large school CBC (18-7) knocked off Jackson (19-5) at home Tuesday night.

Justin Tatum hasn’t slept much this week. Like any other father whose son is playing in what could be the biggest game of the year, he’s anxious, a bit worried and so excited his nerve endings are fried.
There are plenty of games that should put cheeks in the seats on Friday. The Parkway West Classic and Fort Zumwalt North Tournament are scheduled to host championships games. Rivals Oakville and Mehlville are set to clash in a South County throw down.
