It's not as if the Chaminade soccer team was struggling. After all, the 24-2-2 Red Devils have been atop the area rankings all season and are currently at No. 6 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
Three area players have been selected to play for the West team in the second annual High School Soccer All-American Game on Dec. 8 in Birmingham, Ala.

FENTON • A year after being shut out in the Msgr. Louis Meyer Division of the CYC/Bob Guelker Memorial Soccer Tournament, it will be four Metro Catholic Conference powers squaring off Friday as the 58th annual event holds its semifinals at Soccer Park in Fenton.
TOWN AND COUNTRY • The area's top large-school high school soccer programs squared off Saturday afternoon at CBC.
Without a couple of key players, Belleville West lost 4-1 to Springfield to open the season. The Maroons have not lost a game since, going 8-0 while outscoring opponents 21-2.
