Miguel Cairo hit a 3-run homer and Homer Bailey threw 6 impressive innings in place of the suspended Johnny Cueto to help the Cincinnati Reds defeat the Florida Marlins 3-0, complete a 3-game sweep and take over 1st place in the NL Central on Sunday.

Padres 8, Giants 2 • Yorvit Torrealba homered and Miguel Tejada hit a 2-run single as San Diego won and moved 3 1/2 games ahead of San Francisco in the NL West.

Braves 13, Dodgers 1 • Troy Glaus hit a 3-run homer and finished with 4 RBIs in Atlanta's rout.

Phillies 3, Mets 1 • Kyle Kendrick gave up 1 run and 6 hits in 6 2/3 innings, and Carlos Ruiz, Shane Victorino and Placido Polanco each had an RBI to help Philadelphia win.

Rockies 6, Brewers 5 • Troy Tulowitzki hit a game-ending RBI single for Colorado after Milwaukee tied it with 2 unearned runs in the 9th.

Nationals 5, D'backs 3 • Ian Desmond hit a tiebreaking single in the 7th inning, sending Washington to the win.

Astros 8, Pirates 2 • Pinch-hitter Pedro Feliz hit a 2-run double in Houston's 4-run 6th inning and the Astros extended Pittsburgh's skid to 7 games.

Twins 4, Athletics 2 • Kevin Slowey held Oakland without a hit for 7 innings before he was lifted for Jon Rauch in the 8th and Jim Thome homered as Minnesota won.

Tigers 13, White Sox 8 • Johnny Damon hit a go-ahead, 2-run triple in the 8th inning, Jhonny Peralta homered twice and Detroit rallied to defeat Chicago.

Rangers 7, Red Sox 3 • C.J. Wilson was dominating for 7 2/3 innings and Michael Young hit a 3-run homer as Texas rolled.

Royals 1, Yankees 0 • Bryan Bullington and Joakim Soria combined on a 2-hitter in Kansas City's win.

Rays 3, Orioles 2 • Jeremy Hellickson threw 6 sharp innings and Carl Crawford homered and drove in 2 runs to help Tampa Bay prevail.

Blue Jays 4, Angels 1 • Ricky Romero pitched 7 solid innings and Adam Lind homered to lead Toronto to victory.

Indians 9, Mariners 1 • Travis Hafner came off the disabled list to hit a grand slam and Michael Brantley drove in 3 runs in Cleveland's rout.
