MILWAUKEE _ Cardinals lefthander Trever Miller, still bothered by a left forearm problem, isn't available for tonight's game here with the Milwaukee Brewers. And manager Tony La Russa said he would rest righthanders Mitchell Boggs and Blake Hawksworth, who both had seen considerable action lately.
La Russa also explained why he's not using switch-hitting infielder Felipe Lopez, who is six for 13 in his career against Milwaukee lefthander Chris Capuano. "He's just not himself at the plate," said La Russa of Lopez, who is eight for his last 75.
Skip Schumaker, who has been starting most of the time at second base, is sitting again after going three for his last 21 against lefthanded pitching. Righthanded-hitting Tyler Greene, who started at shortstop on Tuesday, will be at second tonight.
