MILWAUKEE _ Cardinals lefthander Jaime Garcia, who hadn't given up more than five runs in any of his first 26 starts, was knocked out after four innings tonight.

The Milwaukee Brewers, after scoring three in the third inning, added four more in the fourth, three coming on Ryan Braun's 20th homer.

The lefthander walked Alcides Escobar with one out and Rickie Weeks with two out in the fourth. Corey Hart singled to score one run and Braun’s drive to deep center made it 7-1.

In 25 innings before Wednesday, Garcia had allowed just three earned runs to the Brewers.

The most earned runs he had allowed in any game this year had been five at Kansas City on June 27.
