MILWAUKEE _ Cardinals righthander Jake Westbrook enters this afternoon's game with the Milwaukee Brewers with a 1-3 record since coming from Cleveland on July 31.
Manager Tony La Russa thinks not only has Westbrook pitched well enough to have a better record, "he easily could be undefeated. He's been in every game," said La Russa.
"I think there was one game they had better contact against him but he's pitched outstanding."
Westbrook has worked six innings in four of his starts and seven innings in his other two. But he has beaten only Chicago on Aug. 13, even though he hss given up more than three runs in just one of his starts,
"He's a legitimate guy," said La Russa.
La Russa is using the same eight position players he employed in Sunday's 4-2 win over Cincinnati although he said catcher Yadier Molina, hitless in his last 10 at-bats, would get an off day either Tuesday or Wednesday.
