At Citi Field, New York
Scouting report: The Mets expect shortstop Jose Reyes to return from a hamstring injury tonight. Reyes, who had a double in a rehab appearance Monday for Class-A Brooklyn, is set to bring his .354 average and league-high 124 hits and 15 triples to the top of the Mets' lineup. ... Carlos Beltran, the object of much trade interest, missed a third consecutive game Monday because of flu-like symptoms and manager Terry Collins is hopeful Beltran will play tonight. He leads the Mets with 14 homers and 59 RBIs. ... Former Cardinal Jason Isringhausen returned to the Mets this season and remains seven saves shy of 300 in his career, the same total he left the Cardinals with in 2008. He's in line to get some save opportunities, as the Mets traded closer Francisco Rodriguez to Milwaukee last week. ... Left fielder Jason Bay, the outfielder who was in the same free-agent class of Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday, is batting .234 this season with a slugging percentage (.329) barely more than his on-base percentage (.322).
