COLUMBIA, Mo. • Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving like college basketball in Las Vegas, right?
The Las Vegas Invitational released its entire schedule today, meaning the Missouri Tigers now know who and when they’ll be playing.
First up, Frank Haith’s team will play host to Gardner-Webb Nov. 23 at Mizzou Arena, followed by a visit from IUPUI — that’s Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis — Nov. 25, again at Mizzou Arena.
From there, the Tigers head to Las Vegas to play Northwestern at 9:30 p.m. CST Nov. 28 — that’s Thanksgiving — in a game that will be televised on ESPNU. The next day, Nov. 29, the Tigers face Nevada at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN3 and ESPN Full Court.
Missouri and Northwestern will play at Orleans Arena. It will be their eighth meeting, with MU holding a 4-3 series edge. The Wildcats were 13-19 overall last year and 4-14 in the Big Ten, but they’re led by first-year coach Chris Collins, a former player and longtime assistant at Duke.
Missouri and Nevada, also playing at Orleans Arena, are meeting for the first time. Nevada was 12-19 last year and 3-13 in its first season playing in the Mountain West Conference.
