Isaiah Canaan scored 32 points and No. 10 Murray State remained unbeaten with an 81-73 win over visiting Southeast Missouri State (12-10, 7-3). Jewuan Long added 13 points for the Racers (22-0, 10-0), who are off to the best start by an Ohio Valley Conference team since Western Kentucky opened 21-0 in 1953-54. Marcus Brister had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Redhawks.

12th-ranked florida wins sixth in a row

Kenny Boynton scored 24 points, Bradley Beal (Chaminade) had his fourth double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 12 Florida (18-4, 6-1 Southeastern Conference) defeated visiting South Carolina 74-66 for its sixth consecutive victory. Bruce Ellington led the Gamecocks (9-12, 1-6) with 15 points.

No. 7 duke rolls past Virginia tech

Austin Rivers scored 18 points, Ryan Kelly had 15, and No. 7 Duke (19-3, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) used a late first-half run to open a double-digit lead it never relinquished in a 75-60 victory against host Virginia Tech (12-10, 1-6). Erick Green led Virginia Tech with 17 points.

SIUE brings six-game slide to an end

Mark Yelovich scored 20 points and Corey Wickware had 19 as host SIU-Edwardsville (6-14, 4-7 Ohio Valley) defeated Morehead State 61-53 to snap a six-game losing streak. Morehead State (12-12, 5-5), which had won three in a row, got 16 points from Milton Chavis.

syracuse getting melo back on saturday

Syracuse center Fab Melo has been reinstated and will play in the Orange's road game against St. John's on Saturday. The 7-foot sophomore sat out the past three games, at Notre Dame and Cincinnati and at home against West Virginia while resolving an academic issue. Melo is averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the second-ranked Orange.

no. 8 tennessee women fall to s. carolina

Markeshia Grant scored 27 points and visiting South Carolina (18-5, 7-3 Southeastern Conference) defeated No. 8 Tennessee 64-60 for its first win over the Lady Volunteers (16-6, 7-2) since 1980. Glory Johnson scored 13 points to lead Tennessee. The Lady Vols hadn't dropped an SEC game at home since a loss to LSU on Feb. 14, 2008.
