No. 10 Duke stuns No. 5 N. Carolina
Freshman Austin Rivers scored a season-high 29 points and buried a 3-pointer at the horn to give No. 10 Duke (20-4, 7-2 ACC) an 85-84 win over No. 5 North Carolina on the road. Harrison Barnes scored 25 points for the Tar Heels (20-4, 7-2).
Boston College topples No. 15 Florida St.
Jordan Daniels scored a career-high 19 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead host Boston College (8-16, 3-7) to a 64-60 victory over No. 15 Florida State (16-7, 7-2) that snapped the Atlantic Coast Conference-leading Seminoles' win streak at seven games. Michael Snaer scored 16 points for Florida State.
Boeheim reaches milestone with OT win
Kris Joseph scored a career-high 29 points, hitting a go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute of overtime, and No. 2 Syracuse (24-1, 11-1 Big East) defeated 12th-ranked Georgetown 64-61 to remain unbeaten at home and give coach Jim Boeheim his 880th career win. Boeheim took sole possession of third place all-time in Division I, one more than North Carolina's Dean Smith. Otto Porter led the Hoyas (18-5, 8-4) with 14 points.
11th-ranked Michigan St. routs Penn St.
Draymond Green had 23 points and 12 rebounds and No. 11 Michigan State (19-5, 8-3 Big Ten) thumped visiting Penn State 77-57. Tim Frazier had 19 points for the Nittany Lions (10-15, 2-10).
No. 19 Virginia blasts Wake Forest
Mike Scott made all nine of his shots and scored 19 points to lead No. 19 Virginia (19-4, 6-3 Atlantic Coast) to a 68-44 win over visiting Wake Forest (11-13, 2-8), which was led by Travis McKie with 16 points.
Missouri State squeaks past SIUC
Caleb Patterson scored 18 points off the bench, Kyle Weems added 14 — including a tip-in with 42 seconds left that proved to be the game-winning score — and visiting Missouri State (15-11, 8-6 Missouri Valley) held on to defeat Southern Illinois University-Carbondale 56-54. Mamadou Seck led the Salukis (8-17, 5-9) with 14 points.
