When ESPN's College GameDay visited the University of Missouri campus in 2010, a record crowd estimated at 18,000 tramp-tramp-tramped around The Columns to watch the broadcast before Mizzou's football game against top-ranked Oklahoma.

Now the network is sending the basketball version of its popular show to Columbia for a broadcast preceding Saturday's Mizzou-Kansas showdown.

The Mizzou Arena doors will open at 7 a.m. Saturday for the College GameDay broadcast, which will be staged on the Tigers' basketball court and air from 9-11 a.m.

Admission is free, and in a bow to the student-dominated audience the show expects to attract, free coffee, hot chocolate and doughnuts will be made available to fans standing in line before 7 a.m.

Students who attend the GameDay broadcast will receive entry priority for the 8 p.m. game between the top 10-ranked Tigers (19-2) and Jayhawks (17-4). Each team suffered a league loss in the past week, but Mizzou is No. 4 and KU No. 8 in both the Associated Press (media) and ESPN/USA (coaches) polls released today.

ESPN's College GameDay is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Digger Phelps, Hubert Davis, Jay Bilas and Bob Knight.

GameDay coverage will return at 7 p.m. Saturday to fill the hour before the Mizzou-Kansas tipoff at 8.
