Comments by Mizzou coach Gary Pinkel during today's Southeastern Conference media teleconference:
"I havent seen all the SEC teams but a couple of national championship teams in the Big 12 -- Texas and Oklahoma -- were real high-level teams. (Alabama's) one of the best personnel teams I've ever seen. You can start with the defensive front. They're very well coached and disciplined, so we've got a challenge in front of us."
On the physicality in the SEC:
"I expected it to be physical. Good teams, no matter what league you play in, they're physical. I have great respect for the SEC. I'm glad we're a part of it. But that's what you expect and good teams are like that."
On the Tigers' offensive problems:
"If you coach better, teach better, you're going to play better. We always take responsibility around here. But I don't think there's any question the continuity at quarterback, or lack thereof, and the offensive line has been a challenge. I've never been faced with something quite like this, but we have to deal with it and we're working hard to do that."
