After six wins to start the season pushed SLU into the top 25 for the first time in 17 years, it took one loss to knock them out.

SLU fell out of the top 25 in both the AP writers' poll and the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll on Monday. SLU is the 31st team in the AP poll and 32nd in the coaches poll.

SLU (7-1) returns to action on Wednesday at home against Vermont.

There was a fair deal of churn in the polls this week, as four teams that weren't ranked last week moved into the AP top 25. One school that benefitted from SLU's loss was Harvard, which is in the top 25 for the first time -- ever. Harvard is ranked 25th.

A-10 rival Xavier moved up to No. 8 in the AP poll.

Missouri is No. 10, Illinois No. 24.
