It took only three days for the first sports-radio talk moves of the year to take place.
WXOS (101.1 FM) is moving up-and-coming host Chris Duncan into what often has been the station's highest-rated program, the afternoon drive-time show that also is co-hosted by Randy Karraker and D'Marco Farr. It airs from 2-6 p.m. weekdays.
He flips positions with Bob Ramsey, a member of the afternoon show since the station hit the local airwaves three years ago. Ramsey moves to Duncan's old slot, 6-8 p.m., working with Brian Stull. That program eventually might run longer into the evening, WXOS program director Kent Sterling said Tuesday.
It seems to be a promotion for Duncan and a demotion for Ramsey, but Sterling said that's not necessarily so.
"This is kind of expanding the table where we all sit,'' Sterling said, adding that the goal is to bring some of Ramsey's listeners to the later program that he now will man.
Also, the station has dropped Cliff Saunders, who was host of its 8-10 p.m. show among having other duties for WXOS. Sterling said that move was revenue-based.
