The Rams and No. 1 draft pick Sam Bradford started contract talks today, but a deal isn't expected any time soon, a team official said.
A good barometer for what to expect comes from last year's deal signed by the No. 1 pick, QB Matt Stafford, and the Detroit Lions. He got just under $42 million in guaranteed money as part of a six-year deal.
Bernie Miklasz of the Post-Dispatch wrote last week that Bradford's guaranteed money could be in the $45-50 million range.
The Rams open camp July 28 in Earth City.
Bradford is represented by Tom Condon. Kevin Demoff, the Rams chief operating officer, will be negotiating for the team.
