Rookie tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, a fifth-round draft pick from Illinois, got about 35 reps, including six at fullback during Saturday's game.
It's a position Hoomanawanui said he'd never played before.
"Any time you can do that you make yourself a little bit unpredictable on offense," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "I know when we defend teams that go two tight ends, two wideouts, and one of those tight ends can become a fullback, it makes it challenging from a defensive signal-caller's point of view."
