The St. Louis Rams wrapped up the first day of training camp with a 90-minute practice this afternoon in Earth City. Tackle Jason Smith, who suffered a broken toe during spring workouts, did limited work in the morning practice but drilled only on the sideline in the afternoon.
There was no indication that Smith had suffered a setback. The move was believed to be a planned precaution.
Rookies, quarterbacks and selected veterans will meet again Friday, starting at 8:15 a.m.
All training camp practices are free and open to the public.
