Cardinals new starting quarterback Derek Anderson said he has remained close to Rams running back Steven Jackson. The two were teammates at Oregon State.

"That's my guy for life. We ran into each other in Vegas. He stays and works out down there," said Anderson, who won the starting job over Matt Leinart. "We text and talk quite a bit. This is the second time we've played him. It's always good to see him. Not good for our defense. I think a lot of guys going into it don't realize how big he is until they get out there."

Unlike former Ohio State teammates, Cardinals running back Beanie Wells and Rams linebacker Larry Grant, Anderson and Jackson won't engage in twitter trash talk.

"We always keep it friendly," Anderson said. "I wish him to stay healthy. I give him a hard time here and there, but it's a little different when you're not hitting each other."

CARDINALS INJURY UPDATE: Much to the chagrin of Rams fans, perhaps, Cardinals wide receiver partcipated fully in the Cardinals' practice Wednesday. Fitzgerald suffered a knee injury in the Cardinals' first preseason game and hadn't played since. Wells, however, missed all of practice because of a knee injury.
