It has been a while in the making, but wide receiver Danario Alexander is a St. Louis Ram. Alexander flew into St. Louis on Sunday while Rams officials talked contract with Alexander's agent and the signing was announced Sunday evening.

Alexander took a physical in St. Louis during the first week of August, staying to watch training camp practice from the second floor balcony at Rams Park. But he left without a contract at that time and subsequently visited Seattle.

But after a couple of weeks of additional training and rehab from knee surgery last February, the former University of Missouri star is ready to go.

After two preseason games, the Rams were ready for an addition to their wide receiver corps. Brooks Foster, a fifth-round draft pick in 2009, was released to make room for Alexander on the 80-man roster.
