Monty picks Molinari, Donald, Harrington
Colin Montgomerie chose Edoardo Molinari, Luke Donald and Padraig Harrington as his three captain's picks for the European Ryder Cup team Sunday, much to the surprise of Paul Casey and Justin Rose. Casey is No. 9 in the world ranking, tied for third at the British Open and is known for his match-play prowess.
Rose won the Memorial and the AT&T National in recent months. He played in his first Ryder Cup two years ago and went 3-1-0.
Molinari solidified his position by winning the Johnnie Walker Championship in Scotland. He will be joining his younger brother Francesco, who qualified automatically for the European team.
