After scoring on a 31-yard run with 5 minutes, 15 seconds to play in the first period, Standard followed up with a 1-yarder late in the opening quarter and a 3-yarder early in the second quarter that stretched the Chaminade lead to 20-0.
Dixon Anthon (12 carries, 107 yards) scored on an 11-yard run in the fourth quarter for the other Chaminade score.
Roosevelt fell to 1-1.
Burroughs 57, Principia 0 • The Bombers, ranked sixth among area small schools, scored 30 first-quarter points and never looked back as quarterback Sam Van Doren completed 10 of 16 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns.
Burroughs (2-0, 1-0 in the ABC League) also received a big game from sophomore Ezekiel Elliott, who scored on a 30-yard pass from Van Doren and a pair of 55-yard runs to close out the game's scoring.
Principia (0-2, 0-1) has been outscored 113-0 this fall.
Lutheran North 24, Westminster 0 • The host Crusaders (1-1) bounced back from an opening-week loss at Clayton to blank the Wildcats (0-2) in nonleague action.
Brandon Ross opened the scoring with a 4-yard scoring run in the first quarter. Glen Bradford followed with short TD runs in the second and third quarters before Tyler Branneky booted a 35-yard field goal in the fourth for the 24-0 final.
Gateway Tech 46, Carnahan 0 • The Jaguars (1-1) bounced back strong after season-opening 20-16 loss in Paducah, Ky., as junior Paul Rice had a hand in the first five Gateway Tech scores.
Rice, who opened the scoring with a 26-yard fumble return, also ran for two scores and threw TD passes to Andre Sims (30 yards) and Kalin Petty (10 yards).
Other games • MICDS, ranked eighth among area small schools, bounced back from a season-opening loss to Maplewood to knock off Lutheran South 55-28 in the ABC League opener for both squads; MICDS is 1-1 and 1-0 while South slipped to 1-1 and 0-1. ... Hazelwood West saw its record fall to 0-2 following a 20-0 loss to visiting Harrisonville (1-1) ...
