A senior, Gately was a double winner at the state championships Saturday at the Rec Plex in St. Peters. She recorded area-best times for the season in winning the 50-yard freestyle (23.33 seconds) and 100 free (51.69). She also swam a leg on the 400 freestyle relay team that placed 13th. At the Suburban South Conference meet earlier in the week, Gately won the 50 free (23.90) and 100 free (53.06) and was part of two runner-up relays. She has signed with Missouri State.
