The St. Louis Scott Gallagher IL Premier Under-17 girls got off to a rough start in the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships in Phoenix, losing 6-0 late Wednesday night to the NSA Premier Fury of Illinois.
The local team will take on the So Cal Blues (0-1) of California late Thursday night and will wrap up pool play late Friday night against the FC Penn Strikers (0-0-1) of Pennsylvania. The tournament wraps up Sunday morning.
Zoe Swift and Corinne Harris had two goals apiece to lead NSA Premier Fury, which led 2-0 at the half.
Jennifer Korn and Christina Ordonez had the other goals.
