Rugby coverage is new to STLhighschoolsports.com. In this first year of its inclusion on our website, we are offering limited coverage while we learn the sport. Rugby uses different stats than American football - tries, conversions, kicking goals, and penalties, for instance - and there's a scoring system for wins and losses that we'll need to get used to.
The season is underway, and this year 10 teams from St. Louis are involved. Along with Jefferson City, these 10 schools comprised Districts A, C and D of the Missouri Rugby Football Union. District B is in Kansas City. In St. Louis, District A is Eureka, Parkway United (compilation of Parkway schools) and Kirkwood. District C is St. Louis U. High, CBC, Priory and University City. District D is DeSmet, Fox, Marquette and Jefferson City.
On our new rugby page, you'll find schedules, scores, rosters and statistics for each team in Districts A, C and D, as well as league standings. We'll provide occasional game stories photos and features, as well as state tournament coverage in June.
