The Blues have re-signed defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo to a two-year contract extension.
The deal, which is expected to be announced Tuesday, is worth $4.25 million.
A source said Monday that free-agent defenseman Mike Weaver continue to keep tabs on each other. Weaver, who's played with the Blues the past two seasons, remains unsigned.
In other Blues' news, forward Cam Janssen has filed for player-elected salary arbitration.
Janssen has been in negotiations with the Blues, asking for a multi-year deal. The Blues, however, have countered with a one-year offer.
Scott Norton, Janssen's agent, believes that that a deal can be reached before the negotiations head to arbitration.
Neither goaltender Jaroslav Halak nor forward D.J. King filed for salary arbitration. The decision not to for Halak was somewhat suprising in that he had his best year in the NHL last season, posting the fourth-best save percentage in the league in the playoffs (.924).
The Blues have the option of choosing club-elected salary arbitration with Halak. The deadline for that is Tuesday at 4 p.m. (St. Louis time).
