BLUES VS. MINNESOTA
When • Tonight at 7
Where • Scottrade Center
TV, radio • FSM, KMOX (1120 AM)
Blues • Despite a 3-2 overtime loss to Vancouver on Thursday, the Blues are 4-0-1 in their last five games and 9-0-2 in their last 11 at Scottrade Center heading into tonight's matchup. The Blues are 0-1-1 against Minnesota this season with a 2-1 loss Nov. 5 and a 3-2 shootout loss Nov. 19. Jaroslav Halak will get the start in goal, carrying a record of 7-0-3 in his last 10 games.
Wild • Minnesota lost 5-2 to Chicago on Thursday, falling to 0-7-1 in its last eight road games, a span in which the offense has managed only seven goals. The road slide is part of the reason the Wild have dropped from No. 1 in the Western Conference earlier in the season to eighth place before Friday's games. Matt Hackett may start in goal tonight.
What to watch • Blues defenseman Barret Jackman will be a game-day decision. He missed Thursday's loss to Vancouver with a hip injury that happened in the second period of Tuesday's game in Montreal. Rookie Cade Fairchild saw only 5 minutes, 56 seconds of ice time, as the Blues basically played five defensemen. They may do so again if Jackman is out.
Injuries • Blues — D Barret Jackman (hip), questionable; LW Alex Steen (concussion), doubtful; D Kris Russell (groin), LW Andy McDonald (concussion) and D Kent Huskins (ankle), out. Wild — LW Guillaume Latendresse (concussion), RW Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion), RW Jarod Palmer (concussion) and LW Colton Gillies (lower body), out.
