The Blues had a demonstrative team-wide response to Tuesday's loss to Columbus, blasting the New York Islanders 5-1 tonight at Scottrade Center.

T.J. Oshie, David Perron, Andy McDonald, Jason Arnott and Kevin Shattenkirk each scored for the Blues, who had their highest offensive output since a 5-3 over Dallas on Dec. 26.

Including tonight, the Blues have netted five-plus goals just four times this season. They did their damage on 25 shots against Islanders goalie Al Montoya, who subbed for an ill Evgeni Nabokov.

Alex Pietrangelo and Oshie each had three assists, matching their career highs. Pietrangelo now has 21 points (5 goals, 16 assists) in his last 19 games.

The Blues improved to 12-0-2 against the Eastern Conference with four more games against the East. The club also lifted its record to 17-0-3 in its last 20 home games, while jumping to 27-0 when scoring three goals or more.

With the victory, the Blues kept a long string intact. They have not lost back-to-back games in regulation since Oct. 28 and 30 againsts Calgary and Edmonton, respectively.

Brian Elliott made 26 saves for the victory, improving his record to 19-5-2 this season.

The Blues will host the Minnesota Wild Saturday at Scottrade Center.

A three-goal second period has put the Blues in command of the Islanders with a 5-1 lead.

T.J. Oshie, David Perron and Andy McDonald each netted goals in the frame, expanding on the Blues' 2-1 advantage after the first period. The Blues have five goals on 19 shots, which is their highest-scoring total since a 5-3 win over Dallas on Dec. 26.

Perron's goal came on the power play, making the man-advantage group 2-for-2 tonight and 6-for-14 in the last four games.

Brian Elliott has stopped 16 of 17 shots he's faced, including a key save just before McDonald made the score 3-1 with 17:07 left in the period.

Jason Arnott and Kevin Shattenkirk have also scored for the Blues, as the team has five different goal scorers and 11 players with at least one point.

Now T.J. Oshie has joined the fun, scoring the Blues' fifth goal of the night.

Alex Pietrangelo put a point shot on net and Oshie deflected it past Islanders goalie Al Montoya, giving Pietrangelo his third assist of the game and Oshie his third point (1 goal, 2 assists.) The three-point nights match career-highs for Pietrangelo and Oshie.

David Perron's hot streak continues, as does the Blues' performance on the power-play. Perron netted his 11th goal of the season and his seventh in the team's last six games.

Alex Pietrangelo and T.J. Oshie assisted on the goal, giving them each two assists tonight.

In his third game back from a concussion, and sixth game of the season, Andy McDonald has scored his first goal to give the Blues a two-goal cushion.

McDonald brought the puck into the offensive zone and dished to Jamie Langenbrunner. Langenbrunner put a shot on net and the rebound went to McDonald, who backhanded a shot past goalie Al Montoya.

After falling behind in the opening minute of the game, the Blues answered with back-to-back goals from Jason Arnott and Kevin Shattenkirk for a 2-1 lead after the first period.

Frans Nielsen gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead just 59 seconds into the first period, as the Isles jumped on the Blues quickly, outshooting them 5-1.

But Jason Arnott, who missed the past six games with a shoulder injury, then knotted the score, 1-1, with his 13th goal of the season. It marked the team's second 5-on-5 goal in the last four games; the other was an empty-netter against San Jose.

The Blues followed with a power-play goal from Shattenkirk. That was the club's fifth man-advantage goal in the last four games. Originally the goal was credited to David Backes, who stood his ground in front of the net, but Backes didn't deflect it. Alex Pietrangelo assisted on the goal.

Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will head to the penalty box for high-sticking.

Kevin Shattenkirk has given the Blues a lead with his seventh goal of the season, his first goal in 16 games and his point in 13 games. Shattenkirk ripped a shot from the point.

The Blues are headed on the power play after a holding call against New York's Frans Nielsen.

Jason Arnott has made a triumphant return after missing six games with a shoulder injury. He has scored his 13th goal of the season, pumping in a rebound after a shot by Vladimir Sobotka.

Chris Stewart, who has been demoted to the fourth line tonight but is seeing time on the third line, created traffic in front of the net to give Arnott some space.

The Blues are 12-9-5 when the opponent scores first this season. After giving up the first goal to the Islanders, the Blues are being outshot 5-1.

The Isles have jumped on the scoreboard with an early goal from center Frans Nielsen. Nielsen scooped up a loose puck after a blocked shot and put a shot upstairs for his 11th goal this season.
