The Blues played well for long stretches, but had some bad defensive breakdowns that led to a 4-2 loss. B.J. Crombeen and Chris Stewart had goals that rallied the team from a 2-0 deficit. But the Bruins scored with just 40 seconds remaining in the first to take a 3-2 lead, then added a breakaway goal in the third.

It is the first time in 22 games the Blues have lost in regulation at home.  It also represents the first time the team has lost in regulation two times in succession in a long time. The Blues outshot the Bruins 32-19, but to no avail.

Marchand scores on a breakaway to give Boston a two-goal lead with a little more than 10  minutes remaining. First time in 27 games the Blues have given up more than three goals in a game.

The Blues are 4-10-2 when trailing after three.

The Blues have dominated the second and are out-shooting the Bruins 22-10 in the game. But with one minute remaining in the period, they have not gotten a goal and still trail.

The Bruins just had a shot deflect twice, then hit crossbar and post and come back out. The officials stopped play to look at it, but no goal.

The Blues have been terrific in the second thus far, and have had a couple of good chances. But the Blues remain a goal behind with 14 minutes to play.

The official scorer has changed Crombeen's goal and credited Ryan Reaves.

Chris Kelly scores with 40 seconds to play to give Boston a 3-2 lead. Kelly was left all alone in front when the Blues turned the puck over along the left boards.

The Blues fell behind by two but got goals from Chris Stewart and B.J. Crombeen to take a 2-2 tie to the intermission against the reigning Stanley Cup champs.

B.J. Crombeen, who got in a fight right after Boston scored the first goal of the game, scores to tie it with 7:45 remaining. The Blues' fourth line got traffic in front after a big hit by Ryan Reaves. Crombeen got hold of a rebound and fired it in the top of the net for his second of the season.

Just 59 seconds after the Bruins make it 2-0, Blues Chris Stewart slams a shot past Tim Thomas for his 12th goal with 12:43 remaining, cutting the visitor's lead to one.

Boston gets another goal. This one is a weird one, shot from the point deflects off Lucic's stick and flutters in slow motion over Elliott's glove.

Brad Marchand steals the puck from Kevin Shattenkirk just inside the blue line and rips a shot past Elliott 2:29 in to give the Bruins a lead. It is Marchand's 20th goal.

Brian Elliott robs Bruin's Kelly with toe save in the opening minute.
