Blues • The Blues are coming off a thrilling 1-0 overtime shootout win over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. T.J. Oshie scored his ninth shootout goal in 12 attempts, and Kevin Shattenkirk got his third in six attempts. Ryan Miller got his 29th career shutout and first as a Blue with 31 saves and two shootout stops. ... Miller was acquired from the Sabres, along with Steve Ott, in a trade March 1 that sent forward Chris Stewart and netminder Jaroslav Halak to Buffalo. The Sabres moved Halak to Washington, while Stewart is probably out for the remainder of the season with a lower-body injury.
Sabres • Buffalo also won Tuesday night, snapping a four-game winless streak with a 3-2 shootout win over New Jersey. The victory was the 21st of the season for Buffalo. ... Goaltender Nathan Lieuwen recorded his first NHL victory in the game, center Tyler Ennis scored his 20th and 21st goals and Ville Leino got the shootout winner in the ninth round. The Sabres are 7-4 in shootouts. ... Ennis leads the Sabres in scoring with 40 points. The team has only three players in double figures with goals. ... Old friend Matt D’Agostini has five goals and five assists in 43 games. Stewart played in just two games with the Sabres before sustaining his injury.
