Rangers 4, Blue Jays 2 • Colby Lewis won for the 1st time since mid-July and Mitch Moreland drove in 3 runs as Texas won. Toronto's Jose Bautista hit his big league-leading 44th homer.

Tigers 6, White Sox 3 • Johnny Damon's 4 hits and 2 runs helped Detroit hand Chicago its 3rd straight loss.

Clemens investigation • Police searched the offices of the Toronto Blue Jays in June and turned over documents in connection with the perjury case against seven-time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens, Toronto police spokesman Tony Vella said Thursday. Vella called it a U.S. investigation and declined to say if medical records were obtained.

Clemens pleaded not guilty last month to charges of lying to Congress about whether he used steroids or human growth hormone.

Elsewhere • Phillies 3rd baseman Placido Polanco is playing with a small break in his left elbow, but is postponing surgery until after the season. He is batting .308 with six homers and 47 RBIs. ... The White Sox activated reliever J.J. Putz from the DL. ... Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera (left shoulder and biceps ailments) was sidelined for the 2nd game in a row.
