James not against returning to Cavaliers • Miami Heat forward LeBron James said he wouldn't rule out playing again for Cleveland. The All-Star played seven seasons for the Cavaliers before leaving as a free agent in July 2010, angering fans of the team.
Varejao out at least a month • Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said center Anderson Varejao will need at least one month to recover from a non-displaced fracture to his right wrist sustained on Feb. 10 against Milwaukee.
Lin added to All-Star weekend event • New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin was added to the roster of players for the Rising Stars Challenge, which will be played Feb. 24 as part of the NBA All-Star festivities.
Slam dunk contest is revamped • The NBA said there will no longer be judges for the All-Star slam dunk contest, which will be Feb. 25. Fans will determine the champion by voting on NBA.com, Twitter or through text messaging. The event will also be reduced from two rounds to one. This year's field includes New York's Iman Shumpert, Paul George of Indiana, rookie Derrick Williams of Minnesota and Houston's Chase Budinger.
