Laclede files for gas-rate decrease
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
Laclede Gas Co. on Friday filed with state regulators to cut natural gas prices by 20 percent. If approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission, Laclede customers would pay 66 cents per therm for natural gas compared with 83 cents a therm last winter. The price of natural gas makes up about 65 percent to 75 percent of a total gas bill, according to the PSC. The rest reflects the cost of delivering the fuel, the utility's profit and taxes. St. Louis-based Laclede said bills for typical residential customer bills would fall $24 per month compared with last winter if the new gas rate is approved.
