Spartech Corp sold its PVC tire and plastic wheel business to a group of private investors for $34.5 million, the company announced Wednesday. The investors include Hamilton Robinson Capital Partners and current management members of the wheels business, which now will operate under the name of Custom Engineered Wheels Inc.

Clayton-based Spartech, a plastics manufacturer, plans to use the cash from the sale to pay debts and invest in growth initiatives.
