Oct. 10, 2009: Michael Jackson's song, Bruce Springsteen's concert and Liz Taylor's thanks.


A song from the Michael Jackson documentary will debut online late Sunday, at midnight, on www.MichaelJackson.com. Jackson recorded the lead vocals for the song, the title song for "This Is It," in 1991. His brothers have provided the backing vocals.

 

 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform the classic "Born to Run" album in its entirety Oct. 25 at Scottrade Center, Kevin C. Johnson reported at stltoday.com/Blender.

 

 Elizabeth Taylor, 77, was able to Twitter again: "My heart procedure went off perfectly. It’s like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes. I know they all helped. Love you, Elizabeth."

 

NBC decided the TV series "Southland" was too dark to air at 8 p.m., Gail Pennington reported at stltoday.com/TubeTalk. With the network committed to Jay Leno’s show at 9 p.m. five nights a week, there was no time slot available for the show, so it was killed.

 

St. Louisans John Henry & the Engine is releasing a 7-inch vinyl EP, "I Don’t Wanna Know," on Hometone records to go along with the new song they post each week on MySpace, Matt Fernandes reported at stltoday.com/rockcandy. "We’re proud of being from here; we’ve soaked in a lot of the rootsy music," said Henry. "Our sound is reflective of the city."

 

"American Idol" runner-up Chris Daughtry Twittered he is teaming with this year’s runner-up Kris Allen: "The rumor about me writing with Kris Allen for his record is true! Fingers crossed it makes the record:)"

 

 Reka Urban, 22, won Miss Plastic Hungary, a beauty pageant of contestants showing off breast implants, nose jobs and face lifts, on Friday night after favorite Alexandra Horvath, 23, lost her balance because of recent silicone implants, fell when new hair extensions got into her eyes and tore a ligament. She wanted to continue, saying, "I don’t see why they can’t admire my beauty in a wheelchair," but was overruled by judges.
