What's available?
Visitors to STLtoday.com can also search, for free, for stories that ran in the Post-Dispatch in the previous seven days. Visit the site search at the top of the page and type a headline or keyword from the story. From our archives, you will also be able to search more than 60 other newspapers that are part of NewsLibrary, a collection of newspaper archives managed by NewsBank Media Services. STLtoday.com also provides links to The Associated Press archives. As mentioned above, Associated Press articles appearing in the Post-Dispatch are available directly from the Post-Dispatch archive.

What's not available?
Although most of what appears in the paper is in the archives, you will not find everything the Post-Dispatch publishes. Beginning in 1999, you will only find stories and features written by reporters from the Post-Dispatch or Associated Press. With the exception of Associated Press stories, no wire service articles (Reuters, New York Times, etc.) or syndicated columns (Dave Barry, Ann Landers, etc.) are in the archive.
Captions are searchable in the archives, but you will not find photographs, charts, or drawings. Nor will you find comics or display advertisements. Material published in agate (very small) type, such as sports statistics, stock tables, and classified advertising, is normally not in the archives.

How do I purchase full-text articles?
As mentioned above, searching the archives and viewing search results is free, but there is a $2.95 charge for retrieving the full text of an article. When you click on the headline of a story on the search results page, you will be prompted to choose a payment method. You will have to enter your credit card information to purchase an article. Your credit card information will not be stored once you have finished purchasing articles and closed your browser. Therefore, if you purchase an article package, each time you return to the Post-Dispatch archive to retrieve a new article from your package, you will be asked to verify your credit card number until you use all the articles in your package.

These pricing packages are not intended for use in institutions such as schools, colleges or libraries. We do offer special rates for educational organizations. To learn more about these special rates, call 800-896-5587 or send an email to postdispatcharchives@newsbank.com.
