Collinsville grocery store closes its doors
Some people dream of retiring early, a few never want to quit. William Schreiber says six decades behind the same counter is about right. 15-year-old Preston Moore was born with sickle cell anemia. Because of his illness, his hips have begun to deteriorate and walking is painful. His mother says Methadone and Oxycotin get him through his day. He goes to school for half days and spends time at home with a tutor most afternoons. Now, the city wants to take by eminment domain to make way for a parking lot for a near-by bar and entertainment development. The city filed a suit last month seeking to take away the property.
