In 2002, Chris and Holly Faulkner found their dream home in O'Fallon, Mo. The couple originally planned to build a house from the ground up but discovered the perfect pre-existing home. "The house had everything that we wanted, including a master bedroom leading to the patio, a foyer and a large great room," says Holly.

Chris owns Trackers Communications. His technical expertise can help explain some of the unique elements highlighted in the Faulkners' home. Chris and a friend installed most of the skylights that are inserted into the ceiling. Also, the entertainment system can be heard throughout the entire house with the speakers that are placed discreetly into the wall.

Holly owns Centsible Design, an interior decorating business that specializes in contemporary designs. All of the décor in the four-bedroom and four-bath abode has been inspired by her style. "Our home looks nothing like your traditional home," says Holly.

Guests are greeted by a sculpture that is positioned in the middle of the foyer. A contemporary chandelier hangs from the vaulted ceilings in the entryway. The hanging fixture creates a beautiful ambience at night with its dimming feature. Additional touches that add to the character of the home are the ultra-modern candle sconces and the light and dark hardwood floor designs, which feature the Faulkners' initial at the doorway.

The second story consist of both children's rooms. The Faulkners knocked out part of the walls in the great room to achieve a loft-styled effect from the second level. There is a desk area with monorail lighting above. "This area is for Jalin and Camille to do homework. They can be productive, and they don't need privacy while surfing the Internet," says Chris. The sitting area overlooks the rest of the house below. "This is for my children's company. When they get older, they can entertain here, and there will be no need for them to have company in their rooms," says Chris.

The Faulkners will keep busy with their next project, which is their kitchen. It is already painted a burnt orange. They will add new appliances and granite countertops.
