Sheri's name removed from home deed
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
The family of Sheri Coleman is investigating why her name was removed from the deed to her house in the months before her murder. In November, Sheri Coleman's name was removed from the deed, which left only Christopher E. Coleman as owner, according to Monroe County records. Christopher Coleman is now accused of murdering Sheri Coleman and their two children on May 5. “Did she sign her name, that's the first question,” said Jack Carey at the press conference today announcing a wrongful death lawsuit against Chris Coleman. “If you ask any attorney, is there any rational basis for a married woman whose husband is in security with two minor children, is there any rational basis for her to take her name off a deed which would have entitled her to joint tenancy with right of survivorship? We can't think of a rational basis for Sheri to do that.” Enrico Mirabelli, a lawyer and cousin of Sheri Coleman, questioned the signature on a quit claim deed filed in November, removing Sheri Coleman from the house. “Even if it is her signature, the question is whether or not is was coerced, whether or not it was voluntary.” Mirabelli said.
