Emergency flood fighting such as sandbagging, rock levees
Cleanup after the flood
Repairing public utilities, roads, sewers, water
80 percent of levee repair cost
65 percent of the cost to raise the levee, as determined by the Army Corps of Engineers
Subsidy for low-interest business loans up to $1.5 million
Disaster aid for residential areas includes emergency housing and up to $5,000 for home repair
National Flood Insurance Program pays for:
Business claims, up to $500,000 for building and $500,000 for contents
Residential claims, up to $250 for building and $100,000 for contents
Private interests pay for:
20 percent of levee repair
35 percent of levee raise
Low-interest business loans
Insurance premiums for federal or private flood insurance
Cleaning and repairing of buildings not covered by insurance
