In today's election in St. Louis County, voters will decide two important ballot questions. We recommend:

Yes on Proposition N: This will ban smoking in "indoor public places," including most bars and restaurants, and trigger a similar ban in St. Louis city.

Yes on Proposition E-911: This will raise the county-wide sales tax rate by one-tenth of 1 percent to fund a county-wide emergency communications system.
