Been there done that - Joe Douglas
![]() ON CAMPUS TOURS: "when visitors don't ask questions, it may be because they're nervous and don't know what to expect, or perhaps they have already done their research. If it's their first campus visit, they might not know what to ask. From a campus ambassador point-of-view, it's nice to know what visitors are looking for and what they're interested in. Then, I can provide them with more specific information. I think it's more interesting when the ambassador can relate your specific interests to what they show you. From a student's point-of-view, I didn't know what to ask on my first campus tour. (Joe toured the University of Missouri-Columbia with his brother Steve this summer.) I did ask about the Journalism School because I thought I might want to major in journalism. Now, I think I might pursue broadcast (radio) or public speaking, so I'm looking at colleges that have a variety of good programs around my interests." — Joe Douglas, St. Louis Community College, communications major and campus ambassador at Meramec
