Southern Illinois University Edwardsville: Nationally recognized, close to home
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville boasts a 16-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio and is among the most affordable four-year universities in Ill. and Greater St. Louis. Nearly 14,000 SIUE students pursue degrees in the Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Nursing, and professional degrees in Dental Medicine and Pharmacy. The 2,660-acre campus of rolling hills, woodlands and lakes is one of the most beautiful in the nation and only 20 miles from St. Louis. The University was named in the 2010 Best Colleges issue of U.S.News & World Report as one of the "Top Up-And-Coming Schools" in the nation, fifth among Midwest Master's granting institutions and among 77 schools in all degree categories throughout the country. For the fourth consecutive year, SIUE has been ranked among the Top 15 public universities in the Midwest-Master's category.
